Arctic Monkeys Reveal Album Artwork

It features terraced houses...

March 16, 2007 by Scott Colothan

Arctic Monkeys have revealed the artwork for their eagerly anticipated second album ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare.’

As you can see the cover is simply of a terraced house at night with all kinds of psychedelic stuff going on through the windows. It also features the band’s new chunky text.

As Gigwise told you first, the album artwork was shot on a housing estate in Garston, Liverpool in January with the band in tow.

Liverpool designers Juno, who also did the artwork for the first LP, spent a week gutting three unoccupied houses from the estate, before moving a team of spray artists to paint the interiors.

Juno’s PR manager Gemma Germains told us at the time: “They (Arctic Monkeys) were really impressed and chuffed with the houses, which we were obviously very pleased with. It’s been a big job!”

She continued: “The band behaved impeccably as always. They hung out with the kids, signing guitars and stuff and having cups of tea with the neighbours.”

It’s a far cry from their first album which featured their close mate Chris McClure looking a bit worse for wear and smoking a cigarette.

Arctic Monkeys release their new single ‘Brianstorm’ on April 16, with the album following a week later.

  • Hm I preferred the earlier lettering. Cover is a little boring unless one reads the whole article and understands how it was done. But really it’s the music that counts. Heard one of the songs today on radio - sounds good.
