Staunch Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher got a surprise at a hotel yesterday when he bumped into new Man City ace Patrick Vieira.

The former Oasis man was checking out of the posh Radisson Hotel in Manchester when he turned round to see new Manchester City player Patrick Vieira in reception.

Gallagher stopped to chat for 10 minutes before giving the former Arsenal and Inter Milan ace a hug.

Noel had been in the city to watch his team beat local rivals Manchester United 2-1 in the League Cup semi-final first leg on Tuesday night. Vieira did not play in the match.
