Organisers for the Reading and Leeds festivals have re-issued a warning about counterfeit tickets for this year’s event.

It comes after Festival Republic successfully had two fake fan pages closed which both claimed to have free tickets to Reading.

In a statement, they said: “This particular scam involves people registering for free tickets and is essentially a third party phishing personal information such as email addresses.”

Organisers have urged fans to ensure that they buy tickets from authorised websites, outlets and partners.

The Reading and Leeds festivals, which take place from August 27-29, will be headlined by Guns N’ Roses, Arcade Fire and Blink-182.
