Lily Allen has revealed that she wants to write songs for Lady Gaga.

The singer, who won three Ivor Novello awards yesterday, claimed last year that she was taking a break from music.

But speaking after her triumph, Allen admitted that she was still writing - and that she wanted to pen tracks for other artists.

"I didn't realise I was an exceptional songwriter,” she told The Sun newspaper.

“I just thought I wrote nursery rhymes - little ditties that I write for myself. I am overwhelmed.

"I'm still writing songs all the time and I won't be writing just for myself any more. I want to write for Lady Gaga."

Allen picked up two awards Most Performed Work and Best Song Musically And Lyrically, both for ‘The Fear’.

And she was also named Songwriter of the Year alongside her songwriting partner Greg Kurstin.
