M.I.A has refused to talk about Lady Gaga after recently describing the singer as “a good mimic”.
In April, the rapper accused Lady Gaga of copying Madonna and Grace Jones, and said her music “sounds like 20 year-old Ibiza disco”.
In a new interview, M.I.A said she found it upsetting that even babies now unwittingly spoke about the star.
"I can't talk about Gaga anymore,” she is quoted as telling Y2K Daily.
“All I'll say is, it's upsetting when babies say ga-ga now. It used to be innocent.
“Now, they're calling her name. You can't really say that Gaga is culturally a change.”
M.I.A went on to describe Madonna as “truly unique”, adding: “She had an amazing sense of style, without a stylist.”
M.I.A’s as-yet-untitled new album, the follow-up to 2007’s 'Kala', is due to be released on June 28.
