Lady Gaga Fans Hit Back Over 'Cannibal Stunt Outrage' Add to My Fav Bands List

Lady Gaga fans have reacted angrily to claims that a dance routine which sees the star imitate a cannibal-style murder was poorly timed.

A report in today’s (June 4) Sun claimed the singer’s routine had upset fans at Manchester’s MEN Arena earlier this week.

The dance, which sees Lady Gaga pretend to be killed when one of her male backing dancers bit her neck, has been a regular feature of her live shows.

But the newspaper suggested that many fans were shocked at the singer’s decision to use the routine on the day of the killings in Cumbria.

A spokesperson for Mothers Against Violence also said it was not suitable for children.

However, fans of Lady Gaga have contacted Gigwise to defend the star.

“I was at the gig and I'm sorry, but 20 000 fans didn’t seem too bothered,” RDM said.

“She has acted this scene out in her tour since it started in January. Any mother who takes their little kids to Gaga should be reported to social service.”

Angel said: “People are intelligent enough to know it's all for the drama and not real. If you are worried about who is seeing it, then may be they should not be there.”

But VH criticised the singer, saying that she “needs to get a clue”.

Lady Gaga performed a similar version of the routine at the MTV Video Music Awards last September.

The star’s UK tour is due to conclude at Sheffield Arena tonight (June 4).

  • The mass killings were horrible beyond words, yet this controversy is much ado about nothing. Perhaps they should have shut down all movie screenings of films with violence and taken tv shows off the air that showed blood. The reaction of the advocacy group is expected. Sounds like the upset fan(s) is a reaction of a distinct minority.

  • I was at the gig and she was absolutely awesome! Its all part of her mad act and people should know that. And I agree that anyone taking children to see her should be reported. She's very raunchy and was obviously going to put on an excellent show with some kind of stunt. These fans who have complained need to grow up.
