Rolo Tomassi: 'Wayne Rooney Will Be England's Key Player At World Cup'

Rolo Tomassi have said they believe that Wayne Rooney will be England’s key player at the World Cup.

Synth player and vocalist James Spence told Gigwise that the striker would be central to England’s chances in South Africa.

“He had an amazing season and can always pull it together when he needs to," Spence said in an extended interview.

“Out of the four strikers we're taking he's by far the best finisher and can turn games around.”

Spence also said he believed that England would miss David Beckham, who is not playing because of injury.

“He's a sort of footballing national emblem,” he added.

England begin their 2010 World Cup campaign tomorrow (June 12) against the USA.

To mark this year’s tournament, Gigwise will be running a series of World Cup features.
