Vampire Weekend have admitted they need to take “more time” when they come to record their third album.

The group released their second LP 'Contra' in January – exactly two years after their self-titled debut.

In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, singer Ezra Koenigs said the band weren't concerned about taking time off, but didn't want to begin to sacrifice “quality for speediness”.

He added: “We'll be thinking about it and once we're done touring in December.

"We can really get serious and thinking [about] when we want to put this album out, when do we want to record it and where do we want to record it.”

Vampire Weekend were amongst the performers at last weekend's Glastonbury festival.
