Carl Barat Announces Solo Album Details

Carl Barat will release his debut solo album in October, the week after he releases his own book of memoirs.

Barat's self-titled album will be released on October 4, the same day as the albums lead single 'Run With The Boys'.

'Threepenny Memoir' is the name of Barat's book, described as a: 'collection of stories and reminisces from his life.  Written in themed chapters, he talks of his love of London, his heroes, his adventures in theatreland and of course, the highs and lows of being in a band like The Libertines who really did turn everything upside down. '

Barat is currently rehearsing with his Libertines bandmates for their reunion show on August 25th at London's Forum before two massive festival shows at this years Reading and Leeds Festivals.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Barat will head out on a solo tour of the UK this October.
