AC/DC: American Idol, X Factor Unfair To Aspiring Musicians

AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson believes that reality music shows are bad for aspiring musicians.

Johnson has said that wannabe artists who appear on programmes like American Idol are hindering their career before it's even started.

"There's only one way to do it. You get on the stage, you learn your trade and you get out and play in front of people. You serve your apprenticeship just like anybody else,'' Johnson told the Associated Press.

He added: "The shortcut ways leads to tears at the end of the day. It's all hype. And it's not fair on the kids to make them famous one week and then nobodies the next. It's just not right."

AC/DC recently finished their Black Ice world tour but are already planning their next jaunt.

AC/DC’s new live DVD 'AC/DC: Live At River Plate' is out now.
