Pete Doherty Says Marc Blanco Was 'Alone' Before He Died

Pete Doherty has spoken about the death of actor Marc Blanco, who died after attending a party the singer was also a guest at.

The 30-year-old was found dead after falling from a first floor balcony at a flat in East London in 2006.

Earlier this week, police said Doherty and two friends Paul Roundhill and Johnny Jeannevol would not face charges over the death. Doherty was never formally questioned over Blanco's deth but did help police with their investigation.

In a blogpost on his website albionrooms.com, Doherty said: “When he fell or jumped he was alone. That is what happened. He either fell or was making an extreme point about the nature of life imitating art."

Blanco's family have said they are considering a private prosecution.

Meanwhile, Doherty is due to appear in court today (May 20) to be sentenced after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine. The singer is currently on tour.
