Calvin Harris Tests Songs In The Toilet

Calvin Harris has revealed that sitting on the toilet is the secret to his success.

The singer is currently on course for a number one single with his Kelis duet Bounce, and has admitted to testing out his recordings in the bathroom.

He told the Daily Star: "DJs don’t have to worry about playing my music – because I always test my tracks a million times before they go off. On the toilet is the best listening time. Put your computer on the bathroom floor and it amplifies the sound."

The Scottish star also admitted his suprise that Kelis agreed to add vocals to Bounce, saying: "When I wrote 'Bounce' I wanted a female voice. I thought about getting Kelis but then thought, 'Nah, she’ll never do it. But after a few phone calls I was amazed that she said yes."

Harris is also adamant that he is not surprised by the success being enjoyed by himself and many of his contemporaries, adding: "European dance music is taking over the world. America loves it more than we do. At the moment there are more resident European DJs in Las Vegas than there are in Ibiza, that’s how popular dance music is. I go there twice a month.”

"All I do is make music. It’s not work for me. I mean it’s not like gutting a fish. So it's important I make an album of variety. All of the songs have to sound different for me otherwise I may as well go and make JLS songs. I'm also swapping remixes with people. I've just done one for Nero. I'd love to do one with producer Nile Rodgers."

Bounce is available to purchase now.
