The Prodigy delivered a high-octane performance as they kicked off the weekend line-up at this year’s Sziget festival in Budapest.

Headlining the main stage on Friday (August 12), the electronic group unleashed a career-spanning set, including the hits ‘Firestarter’ and ‘Breathe’.

Despite only arriving in the Hungarian capital hours before taking to the stage, frontmen Keith Flint and Maxim were on typically energetic and provocative form.

“For all my warriors in Budapest, for all my warriors in the UK,” Maxim shouted at the crowd before ‘Smack My Bitch Up’.

Earlier on in The Prodigy’s set, the rapper also paid tribute to Dizzee Rascal, who preceded them on the main stage.

“Mr Rascal and crew this is f*cking for you,” he said, as they launched into ‘Poison’.

The Prodigy, who were backed by an impressive light show, closed out their performance with their classic hit, ‘Out Of Space’.

    The Prodigy’s setlist was:

    ‘World’s On Fire’
    ‘Breathe’
    ‘Omen’
    ‘Poison’
    ‘Thunder’
    ‘Warrior’s Dance’
    ‘Firestarter’
    ‘Run With The Wolves’
    ‘Voodoo People’
    ‘Invaders Must Die’
    ‘Smack My Bitch Up’
    ‘Take Me To The Hospital’
    ‘Their Law’
    ‘Out Of Space’

Before the band took to the stage, Dizzee Rascal used his appearance to preview a batch of new material, including the song ‘Bassline Junkie’.

Another song - thought to be entitled ‘Scream’ - included a female vocalist, and is along the lines of Rascal’s more recent chart hits.

The British rapper constantly paid tribute to the Hungarian crowd, who responded by dancing along to songs included ‘Dance Wiv Me’, ‘Holiday’ and the worldwide smash, ‘Bonkers’.

Sziget festival continues today (August 13) with performances from Kaiser Chiefs and 30 Seconds To Mars, who have replaced the late Amy Winehouse at the festival.
