At least two people have died and forty have been injured after a staged collapsed at Pukkelpop music festival in Belgium this afternoon (August 18).
According to the BBC News, two stages collapsed after trees were uprooted by the storm and smashed into the stage.
Images broadcasted from the Belgium festival have shown the festival-goers fighting against the stormy conditions, with fallen gantries and rigging on the ground.
Jared Leto, whose band 30 Seconds To Mars were due to headline the main stage tonight, wrote on Twitter before the staged collapsed: "CRAZY STORM AT PUKKELPOP IN BELGIUM – NOT SURE WE WILL BE ABLE TO GO ON STAGE – STAY TUNED. SAFETY FIRST."
Around 60,000 people were estimated to be in attendance at the festival, which has been named as one of the largest in Europe.
As previously reported on Gigwsie, five people were killed last weekend a US festival in Indiana when a stage collapsed during high winds.
