Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy has apologised for claiming that working on the third installment of the Batman franchise to working in Starbucks.
The actor raised a lot of uproar amongst Batman fans when he said that filming The Dark Knight Rises was like working in a coffee shop a few weeks ago. Hardy, who portrays villain Bane in the filn franchise, has apologised to fans furing a promotional interview for his new film Warrior.
"I'm really sorry if anyone misunderstood what I said about comparing working for a huge franchise to being like working for Starbucks," he said.
“I didn't mean it like that. I mean, it could have been British Airways, it could have been Virgin, it could have been Nike, it could have been any huge company."
The actor also admitted he was hurt after reading how fans reacted to his comments.
"I'm human and I do read things and I get hurt," he told Variety. "My friends say, 'Don't read anything, just ignore it,' but I do. And I read comics. And I cry."
The actor will next be seen on screen in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy alongside his Dark Knight Rises co-star Gary Oldman.
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy will be released September 16.
