Pulp Keep Crowds Warm As They Close Leeds Festival 2011

Pulp promised to keep the crowd warm as they closed this year’s Leeds Festival with a career-spanning performance tonight (August 28).

The band, who reunited earlier this year and performed at Reading Festival last night (August 27), delighted the huge crowd who turned out to watch, despite the blustery and cold conditions.

After arriving on stage to ‘Do You Remember The First Time?’, singer Jarvis Cocker said: ''Good evening. You don't want to go home yet do you? We are Pulp, you are Leeds. I know it's a bit windy and cold but we're going to keep you warm.”

The band went on to unleash a set that delved right into the heart of their back-catalogue, including the hits 'Something Changed', 'Disco 2000' and 'Sorted For E's & Wizz’.

As with their performance at Reading last night, the band were also accompanied for several songs by Richard Hawley, who used to tour with them.

It was only the second time since they reunited that Hawley had joined the band.

Pulp closed their performance with ‘Common People’, ahead of which Cocker said: ''We've been on one long trip.

“Have u had a good time? Thanks for being here and keeping us warm. I hope this song has some meaning to you because it still does for us.”
