Rihanna's father has spoken of his fear of dying after he contracted the tropical disease, Dengue Fever.
Ronald Fenty, 57, who re-connected with his daughter in 2006, fell ill with the potentially fatal illness shortly after Rihanna – real name Robyn – had visited her native Barbados.
"It was horrible. I thought I was going to die,” he told The Sun.
"I was actually in a hospital ward that Robyn's friend worked in as a doctor. She offered me her BlackBerry to call Robyn. I called her and she was worried – she said, 'Daddy, what's wrong with you?'."
Fenty is currently recovering after a stint in hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Dengue Fever is carried by mosquitos and kills around 25,000 people a year. Symptoms include muscle pain and headaches.
Meanwhile, Rihanna has completed a brief vacation in Europe and is due to resume her Loud world tour in South America next month.
