Pearl Jam have revealed that they are halfway through recording their new album.
The group's as-yet-untitled 10th album has yet to be given a release date, but earlier this year they teased fans with a free-download called 'Olé'.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Pearl Jam's bassist Jeff Ament said recording for their new project was going well.
"We're at least at the halfway point,” he said. "The first handful of songs we had are a great, great start. It's been really important for us that in the middle of all this, we got together and recorded a bunch of songs.
“It sort of gave us a breath to go, 'Okay, we can go back and get ready for the show and book and movie and all that stuff'.”
Meanwhile, Pearl Jam are currently promoting the film Pearl Jam Twenty, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Cameron Crowe, which showcases the group's 20-year career taken from over 1,200 hours of rare footage.
