Guns N Roses Slam Rock In Rio: We Would Never Disrespect Our fans

Gun N' Roses have said they would never “intentionally” disrespect their fans after a festival organiser accused them of a lack of respect.

Earlier this week, Rock In Rio boss Roberto Medina said the band showed a “lack of commitment” when they headlined the event earlier this month.

It follows frustration that the band arrived on stage two hours late for their performance.

In a statement issued to Blabbermouth.net, Guns N' Roses hit back at the festival, and insisted that their late arrival was due to “the “festival's inadequate production and the downpour of rain delayed the event”

After breaking down the reasons behind the delay, the band added: “GN'R would never seek to intentionally disrespect anyone, especially their fans."

Guns N' Roses came under fire over the performance on October 2, with many critics slamming singer Axl Rose's voice.

Triple M said Rose “screamed like an old lady, threw his microphone around his waist, and caterwauled like a strangled cat” as he sang classics including 'Welcome To The Jungle' and 'Estranged'.

Guns N' Roses are due to embark on a full US tour in November.
