Christian Bale and Tom Hardy will do battle on Wall Street after all, with rumours spreading that Batman and Bale will duke it out in front of 1,000 extras for The Dark Knight Rises.
It was originally believed that the New York shoot of Christopher Nolan's closing installment of his Batman trilogy would involve shooting protestors at the Occupy Wall Street demonstration, although that has proven not to be the case.
Nonetheless, the fight scene will be filmed on a truly epic scale, with Warner Bros. paying $43,500 to shoot at City Hall, and also covering the cost for Police and fire officers to be on the site, in addition to a cast exceeding four figures, NJ.com reports.
The days before the shoot will see the cast and crew rehearsing at Riis Park, before heading to Newark, New Jersey on November 3 and 4.
Residents living around City Hall have already been warned by the police to expect disruption, with Batman on Film saying: "There will be extensive traffic delays in the area around City Hall and Downtown Newark along McCarter Highway, Market Street, Raymond Boulevard, Broad Street, Mulberry Street, Halsey Street, Washington Street, and University Avenue, due to street closures and the re-routing of buses."
Once the New York shoot finishes, the film will head to post-production, with The Dark Knight Rises due for release on July 20, 2012.
