The xx Start Work On New Album

The xx have revealed that they have started work on their second studio album.

The London band, who won the Mercury Prize for their self-titled debut album in 2010, have now confirmed that they will head back into the studio to start work on the follow-up.

The xx posted news to fans on the process of their second album on a newly set up blog xx-xx.co.uk on which they will also post regular updates on the album.

The band wrote: "We have started recording our second album! We have also started this blog where we will post our inspirations and pictures and favourite songs."

Since the release of The xx's debut album member Jamie Smith released his first solo album.
