Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has said the band would welcome Miles Kane in to the fold - but only if he asks first.
The Scouse singer-songwriter has long been a friend of the band, teaming up with Turner for side-project The Last Shadow Puppets in 2009, and is even embarking on an Australian tour with the group in the coming months.
But talking to NME, the Monkeys frontman revealed that while Kane has never mentioned the possibility of becoming the fifth member, the band themselves have talked about it "a few times".
Turner revealed: "Yeah we would [let him join] in a second. We've thought about asking him a few times."
Meanwhile guitarist Jamie Cook said: "If he did added … we probably would let him."
The Arctic Monkeys are to round-up their current UK tour next week, playing the AECC in Aberdeen tonight (November 6), before the SECC Hall 4 in Glasgow (8) and the Liverpool Echo Arena (9) later in the week.
