Former Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall was the victim of an online hoax today (November 10) after false reports appeared online claiming he had died.
Website Global Associated News published a prank story reporting that hucknall had been killed in a jet-ski accident.
The original story read: "Preliminary reports from Turks and Caicos Police officials indicate that the musician struck a concrete boat slip in a marina on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Mick Hucknall was the only passenger on the personal watercraft at the time of the incident. Specific details are not yet available."
After fans speculated over Twitter, Hucknall replied:
"its officail..i'm dead..wow its lovely down here..nice and warm, gr8 parties..lots of rock n roll.."
