The movie version of 24 will commence shooting in spring 2012, it has been confirmed.
The adaptation of the Fox drama will star Keifer Sutherland, and is currently in pre-production.
It is believed that Die Hard 4 scribe Mark Bomback will have completed the latest script draft by the end of the year, according to Deadline.
Sutherland had said back in October that a script for a movie version was "nearly complete."
Plans for the movie began as soon as the eighth and final season wrapped in 2010.
First broadcast in 2001, 24 became a cultural reference point for the first decade of the 21st century, although waned in popularity as the years - and the format of one series lasting through a 24-hour day - went by.
