Cee-Lo Green has been criticised by for altering the lyrics to John Lennon's 'Imagine' during a recent live performance.
The singer was performing the iconic track on NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly show in Times Square New York
Green changed the line "...and no religion too" to "and all religion is true."
Fans Lennon said they believe his decision to change the lyrics undermines the meaning of the song.
According to the Guardian Cee Lo tweeted an apology after: "Yo I meant no disrespect by changing the lyric guys!"
"I was trying to say a world were u could believe what u wanted that's all."
The tweet has since been removed from Cee-Lo Green's account.
