Noel Clarke has joined the cast of Star Trek 2, it has been confirmed.
The actor/producer is the latest addition to join JJ Abrams’ sci-fi sequel, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch Alice Eve and Peter Weller.
Sherlock actor Cumberbatch is reportedly set to play the villain in the movie, while Clarke's character is still unknown.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Benicio del Toro had been approached to play the villain but had to turn down the role, due to filming schedules.
JJ Abrams returns to the director's chair for the sequel to the 2009 hit, with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto also coming back.
Star Trek 2 will be released on May 17, 2013.
