After announcing that their first album in eight years ‘Wonky’, Brighton based rave act Orbital are to also soundtrack a new film 'Pusher' staring fashion model Agyness Deyn.
Due for release in May, ‘Pusher’ will star Agyness Deyn, Richard Coyle and Paul Kaye. The film will be a remake of the Nicholas Winding Refn film for 1966.
The films distributors, Vetigo, have released a press statement quoting Paul Hartnoll of Orbital saying “Working on Pusher was a great opportunity to create a score that draws on both moody thriller styles and dance music in equal measures. Full of anthemic film noir moments. Brilliant.”
This is not the first time Orbital have lent their hands to a movie soundtrack, previously writing music for ‘Event Horizon’ and ‘The Saint’ from which their single hit the number three spot in the charts.
Orbital have been announced as one of the first acts for this year’s Bestival line up at Robin Hill Park on 6-9 September.
