Whitney Houston 'Died From Prescription Drug Overdose'

Whitney Houston's death was caused by an overdose of prescription drugs, according to reports that have emerged this morning (February 13).

Following the singer's passing on Saturday (February 11) at the age of 48 it was reported that she had died as a result of drowning.

However, TMZ.com now confimes that 'family sources' have said that Houston in fact died as a result of an overdose of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol.

Though the singer was found in her hotel bathtub the coroner's office have concluded that there was not enough water in the singer's lungs to lead to the original verdict that her death was caused from drowning.

The report also suggests that as officials believe there is no suspicion of foul play involved in Houston's death, her body can be flown back to her hometown of Atlanta as early as later today to make preparations for her funeral.
