Dane Bowers responds to arrest for conspiracy to rape

Former boyband star Dane Bowers has spoken out about a recent arrest after claims he plotted to rape a woman with a friend.

In a statement from the singer and reality star, Bowers denies the claims, saying he 'completely rejects' the charges.

"Dane completely rejects these unfounded accusations and is extremely confident that the matter will not proceed any further once a full investigation has taken place," said a spokesperson for Bowers. "The whole incident has caused considerable upset to Dane and his family."

Bowers was earlier this week helping police with their enquiries, as revealed by a police statement which read: “A 32-year-old man from Surrey presented himself at Hatfield police station by prior arrangement on April 3. The man has been arrested and is assisting police following an allegation of sexual assault.”

Bowers was also arrested in 2010 on suspicion of conspiring to supply drugs.
