Daniel Craig has said that James Bond fans need not worry about the style of new film Skyfall, promising that the film will be action packed and true to the series origins when it is released later this year.
Director Sam Mendes is helming the new film, Craig's third as Bond, and some fans have expressed fears that he may move the film away from its typical style and create something similar to his other succesful films such as American Beauty.
Craig disuputes that idea completely however, telling MTV that Mendes is a huge Bond fan and that audiences will be pleased with what they have made together.
"I sat down with Sam Mendes two years ago, three years ago – now it's getting on four – and we discussed what we wanted to do and how we wanted to do it, and he's one of the biggest Bond fans around," he said.
Adding: "He's not out to do an angst-ridden movie, some chamber piece about people's emotions. It's a Bond movie. But we both agreed that if he cast the film, which he did really well, and we brought in older characters and new characters, that we'd have something really rich and sort of exciting to watch."
Skyfall opens on October 26. Last month it was rumoured that Adele could well record the film's official theme tune, after she revealed she would be releasing one new song in 2012.
