A new video has premiered online revealing the role of Michael Fassbender's David in Ridley Scott's Alien prequel, 'Prometheus'.

The movie, which charts mankind's first encounter with the gut-ripping, skin-tearing alien parasites, is set before Scott's eighties horror classics, and stars an all new cast.

Fassbender plays android David, who assists the crew of the Prometheus in the movie. In this introduction video, amid explaining his humanoid likenesses, Fassbender chillingly reveals: "I can carry out directives that my human counterparts might find distressing - or unethical," suggesting a dark side to his robotic personality.

When asked what makes him sad, David replies "War, poverty, cruelty, unecessary violence. I understand human emotions, although I do not feel them myself."

Prometeus is set for release on 8 June, 2012. Watch Michael Fassbender's video below.
