Barack Obama joined Jimmy Fallon on stage to perform a 'slow jam' of the news headlines on his US chat show last night. (April 25).

The US President, who will face an election later this year, joined Fallon and his NBC house band The Roots for the amazing scene, which you can see below. Opening the performance, Jimmy Fallon says, "You might have seen this in the news but Barack Obama has asked congress to stop the interest rates on Stafford student loans from going up this Summer. I was going to make a joke about this but I want to slow jam this news, and I'm not the only one" before a curtain opens to reveal Obama sending the crowd wild.

Obama then proceeds to tackle the student loan issue whilst Fallon pokes fun at over-earnest R'n'B ballads.

At one point, The Roots vocalist makes fun of new couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, singing: "If Congress doesn't act it's the students who pay, the right and left should join on this like Kim and Kanye.

Check out the amazing footage below, now.
