Aiden Grimshaw has said that he found being on The X Factor a 'compromise'.

The former reality TV star has taken two years away from the mainstream to create his debut album, revealing first single 'Is This Love' earlier this month. Speaking to BBC Newsbeat about his feelings on his big break in showbiz, Aiden said:

"It's such a long time since I was on the programme. It feels like another world to me."

Adding: "Most of it was compromise. I wanted to be singing mental songs on a Saturday night at half seven which just weren't appropriate. But I was always happy with the songs I was given.

Meanwhile, discussing 'Is This Love' and his debut album, Aiden says: "I think it's going to be different to what people expect from Aiden Grimshaw from The X Factor,"
