James Buckley has cast doubt on the future of The Inbetweeners, saying he doubts there will ever be another series of the hit comedy made.

Despite releasing a hugely succesful film in 2011, Buckley says he has heard no more news about anything fresh being written or plans for a big-screen sequel. Speaking to NME, Buckley, who plays Jay Cartwright on the show, said:

"I've not been spoken to about it at all. I've had interviews in paper just completely made up. I've not spoken to anyone for six months. There was an interview in the Daily Star where I was quoted saying we were going to do a fourth series and one of the characters was going to die, which wasn't true."

Adding: "There are no plans to do any more, unfortunately. I think that will be the last you see of 'The Inbetweeners'.

Buckley had previously expressed a desire to make a sequel to The Inbetweeners Movie.
