Beyonce has paid tribute to Robin Gibb, calling him 'an inspiration'.
Gibb lost his battle with cancer last week and his death has seen the music world overcome with grief and emotion at the loss of an icon.
Posting on her Tumblr, Beyonce penned an open letter to Gibb, revealing his influence on her and her former Destiny's Child bandmates.
"The Bee Gees were an early inspiration for me, Kelly and Michelle," reads the letter.
"We loved their songwriting and beautiful harmonies. Recording their classic song, ‘Emotion,’ was a special time for Destiny’s Child. Sadly we lost Robin Gibb this week. My heart goes out to his brother Barry and the rest of his family."
Beyonce finished the letter with a YouTube video of the Bee Gees version of 'Emotion'.
