Coldplay have admitted that the technicolour wristbands they are using on their current world tour are causing them a number of problems.
The biggest issue they are facing is the cost, with Chris Martin telling The Sun that most of the tour budget is going on the wristbands, which light up in the dark.
"Most of the money we're earning on the tour is put into the wristbands," he told the paper. Adding: "We have to figure out how to keep it going without going broke because it's a crucial part of the concert."
One idea had been for fans to hand their wristbands back after each concert ended, however the band were told this would contravene a number of health and safety rules.
"You have to clean everything in case someone picks up herpes or TB. Our lawyers told us we'd get sued, and having been sued a few times we're not keen on that," Martin added.
"It's a little self-indulgent but we love the way it looks when there are 15,000 or 40,000 or however many people with all those lights on them. The technology is still very experimental."
It was confirmed earlier this week that Coldplay will headline the closing ceremony of the Paralympics this September.
