Gary Barlow's chart topping single 'Sing' is the biggest selling single of the year, having scored huge sales in the week following the Queen's Jubilee concert.
'Sing' sold 142,000 following the concert on 3 June 2012 and claims this week's No.1 single spot, with Gary Barlow also claiming a No.1 album with his commemorative record of the same name.
Speaking of the record breaking sales, Barlow said: "I’d like to say thanks on behalf of about 200 people – as we’ve got a massive cast on this record. It’s something I’ll never forget."
He had previously revealed his excitement at the potential double No.1 to Twitter fans, saying last week: "Were heading for number 1 single AND album this week with Sing ! Can't thank you all enough for your support #happyman'."
It was recently strongly suggested that Barlow would be named in the Queen's birthday honours list and be awarded an OBE.
