Editors' Tom Smith has 'the best vocal range in the UK'

Editors singer Tom Smith has been named by The Mirror as the singer with the best vocal range in the UK.

The paper compiled a list of the 20 British singers with the greatest vocal range, based on sheet music data from musicnotes.com, and documenting the highest and lowest notes each singer has recorded.

Editors' Tom Smith topped the list, with an impressive vocal range of 4.75 octaves - the lowest recorded note he's sung being D3, and the highest B7.

Other artists included in the list were Laura Marling, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Kate Bush and Matt Bellamy.
