18 May: Peter Hook & The Light performed the entire works of Joy Division at the stunning Macclesfied Christ Church, an emotional and fitting tribute to the late Ian Curtis. Check out our exclusive photos here.
The evening called 'So This Is Permanence' marked the 35th anniversary of frontman Ian Curtis' death, the set drew from their entire back-catalogue, including their two LPs Unknown Pleasures and Closer, as well as the post-humous release Still which was made up of unfinished demos and rarities in 1981. Rowetta of The Happy Mondays also assisted on vocal duties throughout the performance.
Macclesfield in a poignant place for this event to take place, being the area in which the group first formed. All proceeds from the gig went towards The Epilepsy Society and The Churches Conservation Trust.
