The Libertines' week of shenanigans - 31 August - 4 September: The band will host a "week of shenanigans" at Camden's The Dublin Castle, including a photo exhibition, documentary screening, album playback, pub quiz and other surprises. A yet-to-be-announced "very special event" will take place on 4 September.
Mac DeMarco signing - 2 September: We don't think Fat White Family, who threatened to join Isis if DeMarco doesn't stop making music, will be queueing up for this one. If you're into DeMarco though, he's doing a signing and acoustic set at Rough Trade East to celebrate the release of his mini-LP Another One.
The Decline Of Western Civilization screenings - 2 September, 9 September, 16 September: To celebrate the release of the box set, Second Sight films will host screenings of all three Western Civilization documentaries in Nottingham's Rough Trade. The first follows the LA punk rock scene and has gained cult status, the second shifts its focus to heavy metal, and the third to the gutter punk lifestyle of homeless teenagers in the late '90s.
John Lydon signing - 9 September: Ahead of the release of Public Image Ltd's new album What The World Needs Now..., the former Sex Pistols frontman (FKA Johnny Rotten) will be meeting fans at Rough Trade East to sign copies of the LP.
Notting Hill Carnival - 30 - 31 August: As always, there's a hell of a lot going on at Notting Hill Carnival this year - but perhaps the biggest names descending on the capital are Disclosure, who'll be doing a DJ set on the Sunday as part of Rinse FM's birthday weekender.
The Jam: About The Young Idea exhibition - 26 June - 27 September: Somerset House has curated the first comprehensive exhibition of Paul Weller's mod rock band, featuring unseen material and fan memorabilia, hand-written lyrics, personal photographs, postcards, instrumentts and more. Go and see it, because Paul Weller's just confirmed that the band will never, ever get back together.
Cassette Store Day - 17 October: It might never garner quite the hype and excitment that Record Store Day illicits, but Cassette Store Day, co-founded by Jen Long, still has plenty to offer. Music stores across the country will open for events, sales and label events to celebrate the occasion.
