Beats 1 has already got off to an impressive start - but here's the artists we would love to have their own show.
Grimes: We believe Grimes when she tells us a new album is coming, we really do, but to make the wait a little easier, why doesn't Claire Boucher take a turn in the Beats 1 hot seat? She boasts eclectic taste and offers strong opinions that deserve to be heard on a larger platform.
Julian Casablancas: Despite his belief that iTunes "buries new music", Julian Casablancas should put aside his doubts and take up the offer of his own show. That way, he can introduce us to all the music he claims we're missing out on. Either that, or he can bring Apple down from the inside.
Damian Abraham: While we're aware that Beats 1 champions a variety of genres, there's only one man that can deliver the venomous punk that many crave. After spearheading a hugely successful podcast (Turned Out A Punk), we have little doubt that Damian Abraham would add a raw edge to the channel and point us in the direction of some delightful racket that we haven't heard already.
Keith Richards: We would like Keith Richards to be given his own show, but only on the condition that he doesn't play much music. Of course, we're sure there's nothing wrong with his taste - it's simply that we want him to build on those outrageous stories outlined in his autobiography and talk at length about rock'n'roll excess. And once he gets started, we're pretty sure there would be no stopping him.
Kanye West: Do we really need to list our reasons for this one? High profile guests will scramble to be heard on his show and we would love an opportunity to really investigate what makes Kanye tick, musical or otherwise - if he gave anything other than his own voice air time, that is. Even then, we would still tune in to hear his inevitable rants before they pulled the plug.
Lorde: If we're being honest, it's a surprise that Lorde hasn't been offered her own show already. What with her untouchable social reach and connection with younger music fans, she would be the perfect fit for Beats 1 if they wish to attract new listeners.
Perfume Genius: Despite his first two albums leaning heavily on sparse, piano-led fragility, Mike Hadreas' third album was much more explosive and brutal in its execution, and people began to take notice of his remarkable voice, in both conversation and full flight. A chat with Lower Dens' Jana Hunter for the Talkhouse Music Podcast proved that Hadreas is perfect company and a brilliant host if he landed his own show.
Matt Bellamy: Sure, his eclectic choice of musical accompaniments would be sublime, but there's something even more tantalising about the prospect of the Muse frontman handling his own radio show - endless conversations about space and truly bonkers conspiracy theories. He could lend Beats 1 an utterly surreal edge.
Cliff Martinez: He might be an ex Red Hot Chili Pepper but don't hold that against him - Cliff Martinez has proven himself an adept and impressive composer of film scores over recent years, including the remarkable Drive soundtrack. The opportunity to hear how Martinez stitches his slew of influences together would be a unique listening experience.
Thom Yorke: Having recently given his permission for his music to be streamed via Apple Music, there's every chance that this could happen. An opportunity to peek at what's inspiring Yorke while recording the new Radiohead album is certainly not something to be sniffed at.
Lauren Mayberry: While Lauren Mayberry unsurprisingly boasts vast musical knowledge, she's also prone to enjoying everything sci-fi and slightly geeky. The opportunity to hear her Star Wars impressions once again is easily enough for us to tune in.
Nick Cave: We reckon that Beats 1 deserves a darker side, and who better than Nick Cave to occupy a twilight slot to scare the living daylights out of us? His love of menacing poetry and droning atmospherics is sure to send a shiver down your spine, even over the radio waves.
