Justin Bieber - Purpose: This was the year Bieber became a reputable artist. The tween star has gone through a lot and turned the public completely against him in the process. But can you blame him? Anyone else in his position probably wouldn't showed so much restraint. The past isn't important, Justin has come into his own as a musician with this release. Banger after banger, as much as you hate the Biebz, you can't deny he's a great pop songwriter.
Selena Gomez - Revival: With Revival, Gomez has shaken off the last remnants of her Disney channel reputation. Channelling the minimalist R&B of The Weeknd, Revival is a sultry, solid pop album.
Carly Rae Jepsen - Emotion: Just when we were starting to think she wouldn't ever recreate the singular brilliance of 'Call Me Maybe', Jepsen comes out with 'I Really Like You', recruits Tom Hanks for the video, and proves us all wrong.
Miley Cyrus - Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz: Okay, so we'll understand if you don't love every track on this 30 song clusterfuck. But, there's nuggets of gold hidden under the messy exterior. If you need to justify it to your mates, just cop-out and tell them it was produced by The Flaming Lips.
Halsey - Badlands: Storming a new frontier in Americana influenced pop, Halsey has sprung out of nowhere with her narcotics laced brand of addict-pop. Hailed as the 'new Lorde' from the off, Halsey has far outgrown that comparison and developed into a personality-singer, something we need a lot more of in pop nowadays.
Coldplay - A Head Full Of Dreams: Since Noel Fielding captained on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, hating Coldplay became a lifestyle choice. The fact of the matter is that it's not 2009 anymore and Coldplay have written some of the UKs most cherished pop songs. Their new album is just further evidence of that.
Demi Lovato - Confident: Let's face it, 2015 was the year former Disney stars hit their musical stride. With lead single 'Cool For The Summer' managing to be both a massive club banger and a queer anthem, Demi Lovato's fifth album stuck two fingers up to the idea that pop music has to mean asinine and inoffensive.
Little Mix - Get Weird: They're an X Factor-created girl band - which means they're easy to dismiss, but if you set aside your prejudices, Little Mix are bloody talented. We'd even go as far as to say 'Black Magic', the lead single from Get Weird, is one of the best, most joyous tracks of the year, and the rest of Get Weird is varied, inventive, and, at times, genuinely moving.
