Glastonbury: According to the generally reliable rumour mill provided by eFestivals, the strongest rumours for the biggest UK festival of the year are Adele, Coldplay and Muse. That would be a pretty good trio of headliners - but Foo Fighters might also rectify their 2015 cancellation, while Prince, as always, is in the back of everyone's minds. The only artist pretty much confirmed by booker Martin Elbourne is Grimes. An excellent start.
Reading Leeds: Joining Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foals and Disclosure, the strongest rumour for R L this year is Bloc Party, while less safe, but still quite probable, bets are Guns N' Roses, Green Day and Biffy Clyro. Plus, if Foo Fighters don't decide to try again at Glasto, then this will surely be their next choice.
Latitude: There's only one proper rumour so far, but it's a bloody good one - Sigur Ros. We can't think of a festival more suited to Sigur Ros, or an act better suited to Latitude, so this better happen. Other likely headliners are PJ Harvey, New Order, Last Shadow Puppets, Radiohead, The Natinal and Bjork, who played a beautiful set at Wilderness last year, but cancelled a load of tour dates.
T In The Park: The only strong rumour for the Scottish festival are Faithless, but if we had to take a punt on the headliners, we'd put our money on Biffy Clyro (they're Scottish heroes after all, and they're coming back this year) Calvin Harris (also a Scottish hero, and he's doing the rounds) and Guns N' Roses - who were just added to the Coachella bill, which will be the first time Axl Rose and Slash have performed together since 1993.
Isle Of Wight Festival: Again, the newly reformed Guns N' Roses are a very strong rumour for the festival, which has always had a love of golden oldies. Golden not-too-oldies Spice Girls are also rumoured to be reuniting for the festival, while The Cure also have an IOW-shaped gap in their schedule.
V Festival:
Buy tickets now. You might dismiss this festival as the overly-corporate home of rubbish music, but it's had some incredible headliners over the years - Arctic Monkeys, Eminem & Rihanna, Oasis (for what turned out to be their last ever live appearance)... So this year, we've got our money on Rihanna, The Weeknd and - if she can get over her hatred of festivals - maybe even Adele.
Bestival: Following the news that the newly reunited LCD Soundsystem will be headlining so many festivals around the world this summer (including Lovebox in the UK), many are now whispering that they could fill the final healdiner slot at Bestival, joining Major Lazer and The Cure. Well, them or Radiohead. We can but dream...
Wireless: This is the year that Wireless can make amends for billing Kendrick Lamar below Avicii last year, by putting him on as headliner in his own right. And if Rihanna's Anti album ever appears, she could also headline. Now that would be a line-up and a half right there.
Festival No.6: Nearly a decade after they released their only album to date, the side project of Alex Turner and Miles Kane are set to perform at Coachella, with new music on its way. They'll surely follow this up with news of a UK festival, and we'd love to see Last Shadow Puppets headlining one of the smaller ones like Festival No.6. Either them or Sigur Ros. Fingers crossed.
