11 incredible photos of Massive Attack at Brixton Academy
An astonishing evening in South London for the Bristol trip hop heroes
4 February, 2016: Massive Attack return with an incredible show at London's Brixton Academy. See our beautiful photos here and the setlist below.
They're currently in the midst of their first live appearances in five years and Brixton Academy is attentive to their every move, relishing the moment to see them again after such a brilliant Heliogland tour.
Similarly to that tour, where they use giant LCD screens to attack corporate greed, the violation of human rights, political abuse, and war. Tonight (4 February) sees them nobly highlight some alarming statistics about the plight of Syrian refugees.
Meanwhile, they have embraced some advancements in music since their last tour and enlist their support acts Young Fathers on stage with them for 'Voodoo in My Blood' and 'He Needs Me' which injects some serious energy into the room. The set closer 'Unfinished Sympathy', with the incredible melodic voice of Deborah Miller, is a classic moment and a fine way to leave us satisfied.
Their new material is going to be mindblowing, and 2016 could well belong to Massive Attack.
