British Male Solo Artist - Jamie xx: You know there's no way in hell that they'll award this to Aphex Twin, hilarious and twisted as his acceptance speech would be. We daresay it will go to Calvin $$$$ Harris, but we think that Jamie xx deserves it for the absolutely staggering record kaleidoscopic sound that was In Colour. Along with his impeccable live shows, he's more than earned the right to be celebrated away from The xx.
British Female Solo Artist - Florence The Machine: You know it's going to go to Adele, not that there's any space left on her mantle piece. Of all the nominees though, the most deserving in our eyes is Florence - not only was How Big, How Blue one of the best albums of 2015, but there's a lot to be said for her amazing Glastonbury Festival performance. She stepped up to replace Foo Fighters to headline, and it was where she belonged all along. Amy Winehouse winning having been dead for some years and not released anything since 2008 would be a nice tribute, but quite disrespectful to the many artists that have.
British Group - Foals: They're standing with giants Coldplay, Blur and One Direction, and that's exactly where they belong - last week they conquered Wembley, and this summer they'll smash headlining Reading + Leeds. A true British success story who've slogged through the years to truly earn greatness. Their time is now.
British Breakthrough Act - Wolf Alice: A tough one, as Catfish & The Bottlemen, James Bay, Jess Glynne and Years & Years have all put the hours in to smash the mainstream, but there's a certain 'otherness' to Wolf Alice that would make their victory all the sweeter.
Best Single - Years & Years, 'King': Another one that will doubtlessly go to Adele, but 'King' was the moment we knew that Olly and co would finally go from being pop's ever-rising outsiders to the Wembley-headlining tour-de-force they'd always threatened to be. They were by all means, the sound of 2015.
British Album Of The Year - Jamie xx, In Colour: Wow, where do we begin on the amount of heinous omissions here? So many great albums overlooked, and many more deserving that some present here in the nominations. But of those present, Jamie xx has the most to gain, and the sheer scope and calibre of the songwriting on this record deserves to reach a much wider audience.
British Artist Video Of The Year - Little Mix, 'Black Magic': We'd call this a guilty pleasure, but we've no shame in admitting this is an absolute banger. Hey, maybe Jesy can do the acceptance speech in a Jamaican accent...
International Male Solo Artist - Kendrick Lamar: We wouldn't begrudge this to the incredible Father John Misty or The Weeknd, but To Pimp A Butterfly was not only one of the finest albums of 2015 and an absolute triumph, but one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. We'd hate to hear those echoing complaints about the BRITs' lack of diversity return if it were to go to say, Biever instead...
International Female Solo Artist - Bjork: Courtney Barnett's debut album was pretty impeccable, and she's put the hours in on the road more than most, and Lana Del Rey's Honeymoon was pretty spectacular. However, everything that surrounded Bjork's Vulnicura was an amazing feat of sound and vision.
International Group - Eagles Of Death Metal: Their spirit in the face of terror is nothing short of inspiring. Let us show an act of solidarity and celebrate music against hate - rock n' roll always wins.
