Jess Glynne to replace Jeff Lynne on ELO tour: We've always maintained that there's probably at least a few confused, middle-aged prog-lovers at every Jess Glynne gig, and a few young pop fans, equally confused, at every ELO gig. So it almost makes sense for the pair to team up for The Lynne-Glynne Experience tour - as we reported this morning.
Crack Magazine has been acquired by NME: The magazine promised its readers "coverage of some of the UK's most progressive artists, such as Richard Ashcroft, Carl Barat and Chris Moyles," which is possibly our favourite fake sentence of the day.
YouTube launches Snoopavision: Watch any video on YouTube today, and alongside the HD and CC buttons, there'll be a silhouette of Snoop Dogg's head. Click on it, and you're taken to a video introducing the launch of Snoopavision - "a revolutionary new way to watch YouTube," which allows viewers "to watch any video in 360... with Snoop Dogg."
Alex Turner to join ACDC as new frontman: Another one from It's All Indie - this time a report that Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner would replace Brian Johnson (who recently had to leave the tour or risk 'total hearing loss') as the new ACDC frontman. The thing is, it's not that much more ridiculous than the rumours that Axl Rose will be joining them - and it looks like those might actually be true.
LCD Soundsystem release new album, La La Land: This one's particularly cruel, because it could so easily be true. The band recently announced that they were reforming for a series of summer shows, so Pretty Much Amazing reported that they'd be premiering their brand new album, in full, at Coachella this month. The story is incredibly detailed - they've even mocked up a tracklisting and artwork - but it's also completely untrue.
Andrew WK launches new political party, The Party Party: This is a strange one, because publications reported it late last night, before April Fools' Day, and the website he's created is ludicrously detailed if it is merely a joke. But surely it can't be true? Surely the American musician, known for his singles 'Party Hard' and 'We Want Fun', isn't launching his own political party? Only time will tell.
Beartooth release new 'swingcore' music: "We've tried very hard to keep it a secret," said the metalcore band on Facebook, "We even had to bind and gag [Caleb] once. But alas, the time has come. Here is some new music." They then linked to a download of a song called 'Dead Swingcore', which is about as far from Beartooh as you can possibly get.
Thom Yorke to perform at Glastonbury under new alias: Given that the Radiohead frontman played a secret set at Latitude last year, this is another one that could actually have been true - if it wasn't for the supposed new alias being Less Information Everyone, or LIE for short. We see what they did there.
Foals' Yannis to appear in Phantom Of The Opera in London: Once again this year, It's All Indie have gone all out to celebrate April Fools' Day. We actually sort of wish this story - which came from "my friends' uncles' dog's sister's friend" - was true.
