Slipknot: The band are comprised of nine members, which given the size of some bands isn't that large. But, Slipknot use it to their advantage with their masks and their strength in numbers always makes for a great and constantly intriguing live show and brutal wall of sound.
The Pogues: The Irish punk folk band from London are remembered mostly for their great Christmas song 'Fairytale Of New York' and legendary punk antics, but what often goes forgotten is that fact they are built of seven members.
The Polyphonic Spree: There are an astounding 32 members in this band, and alumni such as Annie Clark, or, St.Vincent used to feature in The Polyphonic Spree. It all made for a pretty blissful cacophony of sound.
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Another classic rock band with a lot of members. Lynyrd Skynyrd are made up of seven members, and are most famous for their song, 'Sweet Home Alabama'.
Gwar: Often the band are wrongfully named GWAR, but that doesn't stray away from the fact that the German seven-piece have a lot of members, and are quite scary.
Gogol Bordello: The gypsy punk band are remembered not only for their strange mix of punk music and dub, but also their attention grabbing eight members.
Chicago: This nine-piece band formed in 1967 and were originally formed to be a politically charged group standing up to injustices. Later down the line they are a self-described "rock and roll band with horns".
Broken Social Scene: They're constantly changing in shape and sound. The band can have as many as six right through to 19, which is loads.
Blazin' Squad: Who could forget their early 2000s rise to fame, and Kenzie's appearance on Big Brother? The band were formed of 12 members and had one hit with, 'Crossroads'.
Haggard: Founded in 1989, the German band originally played death metal, but have recently changed their sound mixing both classical music and death metal. Their line-up currently consists of 18 members.
AKB48: The band was originally founded aiming to create a band that could play in its own theatre every day, and the organised events so fans could meet their idols whenever they please. Starting up with 48 members, the band are now onto a very modest 130 members, that perform on rotation.
I'm From Barcelona: The Swedish band are probably more famous for their size than their music. They're comprised of a whopping 28 members and include instruments such as, accordions, kazoos, flutes and clarinets.
So Solid Crew: They had a world of fame off the back of their single, '21 Seconds To Go', later the band eventually split up. But will always be remembered for their 12 strong crew.
