Sky Ferreira: In the early days of her music career, the world was largely dismissive of Sky Ferreira's potential as a serious artist. After several years of battling with her record label, she eventually used the money she%u2019d earned from her modelling career to fund her album. Thank God she did. Night Time, My Time is an absolute gem.
Cara Delevingne: If youve seen the viral video, youll already know that Delevingne is a ridiculously good beatboxer - but thats not where her music talents end. She sings and plays the drums, and teamed up with Pharrell a year ago to record a song for the short Chanel film Reincarnation. This isnt exactly relevant, but shes also in a relationship with one of the best musicians of our time - Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent.
Nico: Though shes now best known for her incredible music career, which included an acclaimed album with The Velvet Underground, Nico began her career as a model for the likes of Vogue, Elle and Coco Chanel. In fact, Herbert Tobias - the photographer who discovered her - gave her the name Nico.
Naomi Campbell: Campbells debut studio album, Baby Woman, was critically panned upon its release in 1994. It was also a commercial flop in the UK, but all was not lost. Thanks to its huge success in Japan, it eventually sold over a million copies worldwide. Earlier this year, she appeared in the hugely powerful video for Anohnis Drone Bomb Me - one of the songs of the year so far.
Agyness Deyn: As well as an acclaimed acting career, Deyn has also dabbled in the world of music in the past few years. She was a member of the now defunct band Lucky Knitwear, and also provided vocals for Five O%u2019Clock Heroes%u2019 single %u2018Who%u2019, which NME dismissed by spending the entire review focussing on her legs.
Lucky Blue Smith: The 17-year-old is already one of the worlds best known male models, but hes actually been in a band called The Atomics with his three sisters since he was just a little boy. They dont seem to have released much new music in the past few years, but Smith describes their sound as drum and bass grooves with a dash of reverb and really cool harmonies.
Tyra Banks: Its been over a decade since Tyra Banks released her one and only single, Shake Ya Body. She has, though, appeared in music videos for the likes of Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, George Michael and Lionel Richie.
Katie Price: The artist formerly known as Jordan is well aware that shes not the greatest musical talent - but thats not stopped her from releasing some wonderful clangers, including a cover of A Whole New World with then-husband Peter Andre, for which this artwork was created.
Brigitte Bardot: Bardot began her modelling career when she was just 15, appearing on the cover of Elle in 1950. She eventually became one of the most recognisable sex symbols of the 50s and 60s, but her acting and music career was impressive and prolific. Perhaps her best-known music is her collaborations with Serge Gainsbourg, on tracks such as Bonnie & Clyde and Je Taime Moi Non Plus.
Kate Moss: Though shes never gone as far as releasing her own album, Moss has lent her vocals to several tracks from the likes of Primal Scream, The Lemonheads and Babyshambles. In fact, prior to breaking up with Pete Doherty, she co-wrote four songs for Babyshambles.
Dua Lipa: Due Lipas modeling career was over before it really began. After being scouted at the age of 16, she was told shed need to lose weight if she wanted to do catwalk modelling. I dont want to do catwalk, she told them. The only reason Im in this is to make contacts. I just really want to eat Krispy Kreme. The fashion worlds loss is the music worlds gain.
Grace Jones: With her sharp, androgynous look, Jones was one of the most famous and buzzed-about models of the 70s, appearing on the covers of Elle, Vogue ad Stern. She transitioned into music later in her 20s, and the rest - as they say - is history.
