11 beautiful photos of PJ Harvey's triumphant Brixton Academy gig
Theatrical performance from the enimagtic singer and nine-piece backing band
PJ Harvey and her incredible band stunned crowds at Brixton Academy who gathered on Halloween to see the band who fittingly came all dressed in sombre black.
The band were a staple on the 2016 festival circuit but given their own crowd there was a greater fixation than the wondering minds you get from people who've stumbled in by accident.
The set was carefully engineered on an aesthetic and musical level to emphasise the dark nature of some of her songs which deal with social cleansing, and harrowing conflicts and power shifts in society. She's a novelist in disguise. She triumphed receiving a greater applause than she could possible have hoped for.
PJ Harvey played:
Chain of Keys
The Ministry of Defence
The Community of Hope
The Orange Monkey
A Line in the Sand
Let England Shake

The Devil
