Claude Debussy - Clare De Lune, performed by Robin Alciatore: As if the song was not creepy enough its use in the series adds a significant eeriness to the scene it features in.
The Cure - A Forest: Reworked to fit in with the show's creepy aesthetic, somehow Djawadi has managed to make The Cure darker than The Cure.
Radiohead - No Surprises: This version is not too far from the original, yet the way in which it is used in the show gives the song something of a new meaning.
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun: What is already a fairly dark song, a simple piano version has a weird twist to make it more haunting. It must have done Chris Cornell proud.
Rolling Stones - Paint It Black: This is most likely the best reworking of the lot. Completely different whilst keeping the song's main melody intact.
Nine Inch Nails - Something I Can Never Have: Wouldn't be a spooky show if Trent Reznor didn't have anything to do with it.
Scott Joplin - Pineapple Rag: This is generally a beautiful song, but put it into such a context and the mood completely changes.
Johnny Cash - Ain’t No Grave: The man died of a broken heart, tie that in with his often dark sound, and what you have is a fitting addition to this soundtrack.
Maple Leaf Ragtime Band - Peacherine Rag: Again, another wonderful piece of uptempo music, yet tied into a show like this it is given a new meaning. Its eccentricities are so over the top happy that in a darker setting it can become warped.
London Philharmonic Orchestra & David Parry - Carmen Suite No. 2: Habanera: A beautiful piece of music that is in all honesty a weird choice. But it is one that embodies the choices made on the rest of the soundtrack. Weird is not always wrong.
